party at afriend`s house

c`etait a loccasion d `une soiree bijoux (genre soiree tupperwear ) et l` hotesse a fait de la cuisine italienne (etant dorigine italienne ) .Les pates sont des Penne a la vodka et elle a fait des boulettes de viande (plat tres courants ici chez les italo americains)

Jai fais deux gateaux :un plat de ktayef (dessert algerien aux noix ) et un cheesecake au fromage blanc et aux fruits rouges .

This was a jewelry party at a friend`s house .We were having a Cookie Lee show .
As the hostess was from Italian decent ,she cooked some Italian dishes such as meat balls and Vodka Penne .For dessert there were three cakes ,one was a flan cake (a chololate cake with on top of it a caramelized vanilla flan ) ,a white chcocolate and berry cheescake that I made and the third one was a Middle eastern dessert called Katayef (phylo and hair stuffed with walnuts and honey syrup )

whole foods louisville ,KY

This is a store that is present everywhere inthe US ,itis called wholefoods .The quality of the products is very good but sometimes the prices are too high .You can find a lot of gourmet food.
Ces photos sont celles d`une chaine de magasins nommee wholefoods que l`on trouve dans tous les etats unis .Les produits sont de bonne qualite ,tout y est organique mais les prix sont assez eleves .

White chocolate berry cheesecake(cheesecake aux fruits rouges et auchocolat blanc)

Sorry i dont have the picture yet as iam making it tomorrow .
Iam thinking of using lady fingers instead of amretti biscuits and putting some strwberry liquor on the biscuits to add flavour ,imight use strwberries instead of raspberries too . we`ll see .

2x150 gr bars of white chocolate
2x300gr tubs of soft cream cheese
284 ml potof double cream
50gr of caster sugar
170gr of raspberries
5tbs of raspberry jam
85gr Amaretti buiscuits
200gr of small strawberries
a few blueberries (optional)

Break the chocolate into a glass bowl then put it over a pan of just simmering water to melt .
Line a lightly oiled 900gr loaf tin with cling film
Whisk the cheese ,cream and sugar together,preferably with electric whiskersthen stir into the almost cool melted chocolate until well combined
Stir 50gr of raspberries with 2 tbs of the jam .

Spoon half the cheese mixture into the loaf tin ,then spoon the jammy raspberies down the center .Top with the rest of the cheese mixture ,level the top ,then press in the biscuits.
cover and chill for 6hours or overnight

set aside about 6 strawberries ,halve the rest ,then warm in a pan withthe remaining jam until soft .whizz in a food processor or witha hard blender then rub through a sleve to remove the seeds and make the sauce .Add adrop of water if the sauce is too thick .

To serve ,carefully turn the tin onto ap late ,lift it away and strip off the cling film
halve the remaining strawberries then arrange on top of the cake withe remaining raspberries and blueberries .pour over a little sauce and serve the rest separately for drizzling over .

Tarte au citron (lemon tart)


3 citrons
Un rouleau de pate brisee style herta
150gr de sucre
50gr de beurre
4oeufs entiers
1 cuillere a soupe de fecule de mais

Fouettez les oeufs avec le sucre jusqua ceque le melange devienne mousseux et blanc.
Ajoutez le zeste des citrons ansi que le jus . Ajoutez le beurre fondu , la fecule de mais (diluee dansune peu deau) melangez .
chemisez un moule a tarte avec une feuille de papier sulfurise et la pate brisee .Versez la creme sur la pate et faire cuire pendant 35 mina 180 degres jusqua ce que la creme soit figee .
Une autre variante est de rajouter de la meringue dessus ou de d`utilisez une pate sablee et non brisee . Je ne reussis jamais la meringue,donc je me suis abstenue .
English version :
3 lemons
1 pie shell (you can buy it ready,i gotmine from wholefoods)
150gr of sugar
50gr of melted butter
4 eggs
1 table spoon of corn flour (the very smooth one)
Whisk the eggs with the sugar until it gets white and smooth ,add the lemon zest and the lemon juice .then add the butter ,the corn flour (diluted into alittle bit of water)mix everything .
pour this over your pie shell and cook for 35min at 350 degrees until the cream is fixed .
you could add a meringue on top of the cream but idid not do it as iam not an expert with meringues.
