Parfois cette recette porte le nom de Hmis (est Algerien).Il ya aussi une version sans cuissson
This is a North African salad (or side dish) made of grilled peppers ans tomatoes .i cook the peppers after i grill them . iwill soon post the recipe .
sometimes this dish is also called Hmis (East part of Algeria), there is also a version that is not cooked
Here is the recipe:
1lb and a half of green peppers
6 tomatoes (ripe)
2 gloves of garlic
1tea spoon of cumin
1 teaspoon of carvi
1 teaspoon of Harissa(optional)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
In a pan put your peppers to grill (you can do it in the oventoo ) then once grilled remove the skin .
Do the same thing with the tomatoes .
Then in another pan put your peppers that have been cut into small pieces withe the tomatoes (that have been cut too ) add the oil olive oil, the ,harissa ,the spices ,the salt and pepper and let simmer for 15-20 min until the tomatoes are melted .
You can eat it either cold or warm , decorate with tunafish ans black olive ,you can add some olive oil at the end too .
